On average, employees spend an hour a day creating presentations. Often, this does not run efficiently: formatting and the like take over and the content is missed out. Learn here which three areas you should definitely optimize.
Corporate Design: 78 % of the presentations are Corporate Design offences
Did you know that when you create a presentation, around 40% of the time for formatting work is spent on it? It takes hours and hours to search for new or existing content, adjust text and font sizes and position images on the slides. That's valuable time that should actually be used to create the right content or prepare for the presentation.
This does not mean that the design of a presentation is less important than the content - quite the contrary! Because in sales, at trade fairs and even in internal use, presentations are the business card of your company. To keep the Corporate Design is not a free program, but a duty for the professional impression. As far as the preparation for trade fairs is concerned, this has been leaked long ago. Nothing is left to chance in the design of the trade fair stand, the selection of staff on site and even in the goodies that stand visitors receive as gifts.
In contrast, most company presentations are still lagging behind: up to 78 % of the presentations used no longer correspond to the corporate design ! And this does not happen without reason. This is because the presentation or template created by the marketing or internal communications department is copied by the employees to their own computer and from there it is continually expanded and supplemented. However, these changes often do not correspond to the Corporate Design - in many cases non CI conform pictures, logos and fonts are used. The result: numerous different looking and above all no longer CI conforming presentations are in circulation and are shown in sales, at trade fairs or in front of customers. In short: Anything but a uniform external appearance intended by the company!

Content Management: The eternal search for content and templates...
A scenario that probably every employee knows: In the company an important customer appointment is coming up and a presentation has to be made. As a rule, presentations are not created from scratch, but are based on existing presentations. For example, the topic of digitization has surely been presented at XY before, right? The computer is started up and the search for suitable slides and content begins. But already here the first problems appear. Where was the suitable presentation filed? Under which name is the presentation stored? And who created the slides back then? Folders and e-mails are searched by keyword for "presentation digitization". And indeed - after only a few minutes the first search results are found: "Digitization Presentation1", "Digitization Presentation_final", "Presentation_Digitization_2019", "Presentation_Digitization_this time_really" etc. The infinite list of possible presentation templates is sobering.
This already shows problem number two: Which of the presentations is actually the "presentation\\\_digitization\\_ current "? With the eye closed, a presentation is selected, data is laboriously transferred, small changes are made here and there, and the presentation is finished. This process is not only cumbersome, it also leads to errors in the corporate design and in the topicality of the contents .
